Builders and new construction

Every house, every phase, every dollar

Set up each development once. Then every lot shows where it stands, what you can bill, what the builder is holding and what each house really made.

PipedHQ includes new-construction billing for plumbing contractors. Set up each development with its house types, the builder’s price for each phase (underground, rough-in, top-out, trim and final) and your planned hours and materials. PipedHQ then tracks every lot by phase and inspection, bills the builder for the phases that passed, holds retainage and releases it when each house is done, tracks extras and backcharges, and shows profit per house and per model, planned against actual.

What it does

  • One board for every lot: scheduled, waiting on the inspector, failed, passed, billed, paid. Plus the builder’s site plan and a map.
  • Bill the builder for what passed inspection, phase by phase.
  • Retainage held on each bill and released when each house is done, so you always know what the builder still owes you.
  • Extras billed, backcharges tracked and disputed.
  • Profit per house and per model, planned against actual, so you see which model is losing money before the next bid.

Why it matters

On a 40-lot development, retainage is often the profit. Spreadsheets lose track of it; builders rarely remind you. PipedHQ shows the retainage held on every house, and releases it when the house is done.

Builder billing sits next to your service work in the same app, with the same tech app, schedule and books. See pricing and ask us about builder billing when you sign up.

Questions

What is retainage in plumbing?

Retainage is a share of each payment, often 5 to 10 percent, that a builder holds back until the work is complete. PipedHQ records it on each bill and tracks when it is due to be released.

Can I bill by phase?

Yes. Each house type has the builder’s price for underground, rough-in, top-out, trim and final, and you bill the phases that passed inspection.
